SPECIAL INGREDIENTS
Magnesium – is an excellent buffer. Buffers are compounds that neutralize excess acid within an animals digestive system. A buffer also maintains acidity within a narrow range. Magnesium oxide has very good bioavailability in horses. It is the most concentrated magnesium source, meaning you can feed less than with other forms.

Calcite – is a natural high quality source of calcium mined from fossilized red algae, its honeycomb structure increases its buffering properties along with increasing its bioavailability for bone health. It has superior buffering ability compared to the more commonly used calcium carbonate (limestone).

Threonine – is an essential amino acid in horses. The intestine utilizes threonine more than other essential amino acids, and the gut retains as much as 60% of dietary L-threonine for the synthesis of mucins. These mucins form a muscus layer coating the gut lining and forms a physical barrier to protect against irritants such as acid. Dietary intake of threonine is necessary to maintain the intestinal health.
